Day 266

30 07 2010

Today we went to a charity event at Jones Beach.  It was a Tug of War between members of Nassau & Suffolk County law enforcement.  Members of the Corrections, Sherriff and Police departments went against each other.  Last year Suffolk County won all three tug of wars so everyone was expecting Nassau County to put up a good fight this time!  But the crew from Suffolk came out on top taking 2 out of 3 of the challenges.  The Correction’s dept is the one that lost to Nassau.  But Daddy’s buddies from the Police Dept were victorious!  That’s me with daddy, his good friend Vic and the guy that head’s the Suffolk PD team, Billy.  Daddy wasn’t on the line this time – he helped coach the guys, telling them when to hold and when to pull.  Maybe someday I’ll be on the team 🙂

WBAB sponsored the event – that’s mommy and me with JP from the morning show.  Mommy and daddy think he’s really funny.

Day 265

30 07 2010

I’m all dressed and ready to go to school!  Wait, why are you calling me a troublemaker???

Day 264

30 07 2010

I really love puffs!  Mommy gave me this cup and it’s got puffs in it – but it’s not easy getting them out of here……

Day 263

30 07 2010

I’m sitting in my high chair enjoying some puffs – these things are yummy and it’s fun to feed myself.

Day 262

26 07 2010

Mommy and daddy kept me home from school today.  They wanted to make sure my hives were all gone before they sent me – wouldn’t want anyone at school worried I was spreading anything to the other babies!  Daddy was home for the morning so he watched me.  Then our neighbor Maria and her girls, Meghan & Nicole, babysat me 🙂  That’s us – Meghan’s to the left of me and I’m sitting on Nicole’s lap.  That’s some other neighborhood kids with me. I can’t wait until I am bigger and can play with everyone.

Day 261

25 07 2010

Today I was supposed to be going to Olive’s 1st birthday party in NJ.  But I broke out in hives again and mommy didn’t think all the other parents at the party would appreciate me coming.  Although the doctor said I wasn’t contagious, you just don’t want to take chances.  And it’s supposed to be another scorcher today – after being out in the heat yesterday, mommy figured it would be best if I stayed home.  Since we’re home she thought today would be a good day to drag out my costumes and dress me up and takes pics.  Here I am in the scarecrow costume.  She also had me in a giraffe and a dinosaur costume…..uh, thanks mommy, I’ll pay you back someday when I’m a teenager and start driving you crazy .

Day 260

25 07 2010

This morning started off weird!  I didn’t have a fever but after mommy fed me breakfast, I broke out into hives all over my legs and arms.  She was worried I was having an allergic reaction to something I ate – that happened once before when I first tried bananas…but this reaction was so much worse than that.  She called the dr’s office to see what they had to say, but the person answering the phone said I should come in.  So off we went, and Dr. Gheri was there again (I really like Dr. Gheri, she’s very nice.)  She said I might have a virus.  Apparently something has been going around and my symptoms, the low grade fever and hives, fit the symptoms.  There wasn’t really anything she could do for me – apparently it’s the kind of thing that has to run it’s course.  Other then the hives, I was feeling much better, not sluggish like the day before.  She said at this point I wasn’t contagious and it would be OK if I went out.  We had Jennie’s BBQ today and we were hoping not to miss it.  Lots of people from mommy’s high school were gonna be there and it was gonna be like a reunion.  Unfortunately it was gonna be a super hot day but we were looking forward to going in Jennie’s awesome pool.  I did go swimming for a little bit, but the heat made me super tired and I spent most of the day sleeping – thank goodness Jennie’s house had central air conditioning. 🙂

and I made some new friends today too!  This is me with Alicia – she has a twin sister named Cynthia.  Alicia and Cynthia look alike – that’s what being a twin means…..well one kind of twins look alike and they are that kind of twins!

Day 259

25 07 2010

Yay Mommy had off today, boo I wasn’t feeling too good this morning 😦 I had a low-grade fever again this morning and they thought I was still acting sluggish so mommy kept me home from school and we went to see Dr. Gheri.  She said she didn’t see any signs of infection, my ears were good, nothing on the back of my throat.  But mommy should keep an eye on me and come back if anything developed.  We went home and I played a bit there.  Then daddy had to go to work and mommy had a lot of errands to do so we headed out to the stores.  Mommy wanted to swing by my Aunt Tara’s house to say hi since we haven’t been there in awhile.  They normally go away for the weekend so mommy wasn’t sure if they’d be home but we got lucky and they were there!  So we hung out there for like an hour or so before we went off to do our errands.  That’s me with Julie, Erin and Johnny.  Amy was off playing with her friend so they weren’t in the picture.

Day 258

22 07 2010

I didn’t feel so hot today.  I was pretty sleepy this morning and right about the time we were to leave for school, mommy noticed I felt kind of hot.  Daddy got the thermometer and checked my temperature, it was only 98.3, which isn’t really considered a fever for a baby.  So I was gonna go to school even though mommy and daddy felt I was acting my usual self.  Mommy gave me a pain reliever to see if that would help and we left for school.  But when I got there, everyone said I didn’t look like myself and mommy decided to take me home.  On the way she stopped at this Health Mart/Pharmacy in Valley Stream she always wanted to check out.  While I slept in my car seat (which mommy had in the shopping cart) – she strolled the aisles.  She found these great Melissa & Doug hand puppets and got me one.  That’s me and Officer Cyrus 🙂  After we got home and mommy fed me breakfast, I started feeling better.  That’s when mommy and I were playing with Officer Cy for a bit – I liked it when he tapped my nose and I really liked chewing on his hat.  Since I was feeling better, mommy ended up bringing me back to school.  I was alright for the rest of the afternoon, but started feeling warm again by the time mommy got home from work at 9pm.  My temperature was 99.5 when she checked it last – she gave me more pain reliever and I drifted off to sleep.  Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow.  I have a busy weekend ahead, no time to be sick!

Day 257

21 07 2010

Daddy why do I have to stay in here?  I’d much rather be crawling around the floor, dragging my toys all over the place, playing with the cable box and whatever else I can get my hands on!
